One week of entering our current research of Post Failure Potentials from July 13-17. This research project questions and destabilizes the binary relationships between success and failure, as well as between cooperation and competition. Using martial arts, improvisation, contact improvisation, and experimental performance practices, participants will explore the spaces between training, creation, competition, struggle, and celebration.

Makisig Akin & Anya Cloud will be teaching this workshop from July 20 - 24. Tracing CI back to its martial arts roots shifts the practice away from flow, movement, and familiar patterns toward a skillful engagement with risk, readiness, and the unknown. Convergence, divergence, and deviation are invited through retraining reflexes, friction, tracking, collision, connection, touch, gravity, and more.
